Shayla Waite began her career as a photographer fifteen years ago, in 1993.  Her work today redefines wedding photography.

Shayla’s passion for photography began with observing South Pacific landscapes as a child.  She later discovered the art of photographing the human form as nudes.   Her love of the human experience, led her to her passion for photographing people as they experience some of the most profoundly emotional days of their lives.  Weddings are such a day.

Shayla’s photography is about capturing the simple, un-staged moments, and the essence of the person in those moments.  She insists that in order for a wedding specialist to evolve stylistically, he or she must explore new ideas and techniques, while being willing to take artistic risks.  Shooting quickly and “flowing” with a constant stream of awareness is the only way to fully capture the organic experiences of a wedding day.  “There is nothing more gratifying than seizing such moments with your camera.”
